Centrifugal pumps for the machine supply

Machine supply

Modern machine tools place a wide range of demands related to the supply of coolant, e.g. rinsing, machine bed flushing, the filter back washing and external and internal cooling of tools.
Pressure and volumes vary greatly, depending on the requirement and depending on the condition of the pre-filtered and clean coolant. The operating principles of the pumps vary as well: e. g. centrifugal pumps with semi-open impellers are used for rinsing and filling, whereas in the medium and high pressure range, centrifugal pumps with closed impellers or screw spindle pumps are used.
Machines which are connected to a central system require a lifting pump in order to pump dirty fluid to the central filter system.

Coolant pumps for filtration

Filtration

As the responsible core element for the cleaning of the coolant, the filter system is a very important factor in establishing the service life of the fluid.
Filter systems (whether individual, regional or central systems) supply the machine tool with purified coolant. Here medium and high pressure pumps are applied. Within the filter system however, pumps which are more forgiving to dirt (with semi-open impellers) are used to circulate and pump the non-purified coolant.

Industry pumps for back pump stations

Back pump stations

The contaminated coolant with chips is collected in pump back stations and then pumped to the individual, regional or central filter by means of a lift pump.
In addition to the inclusion of chips, the entrainment of air into the coolant fluid is of major importance. Depending on the application, either pumps with integrated suction de-aeration system, vortex pumps or cutter pumps are used.
Pumps with suction de-aeration system (so-called quick suction immersion pumps) have stable pump performance (despite the air in the fluid) and can be adapted to different types of chips by choosing wear-optimized materials.
In turn, cutter pumps can cut and pump long, stringy chips. As such, they replace chip breakers and shredders in many applications.
